Available Cats

New cats are added as they come in to the PAW Society’s Cat Adoption Program. Check back often to see who’s new and who’s been adopted.

We hope you enjoy reading the cats' stories.  Some of the adoption cats are in their younger years, some are in the mature age bracket.  Cats in their middle years are in the prime of their lives with many wonderful attributes and many years yet to give and receive love. We suggest you choose a cat based on personality, not age or appearance.

Our cats are not 'for sale'; they are available 'to adopt'. When you adopt rather than purchase, you are giving a rescued cat a second chance at life.  All of these beautiful cats had previous homes and then for reasons they had no control over, became homeless. The $160 adoption fee helps to offset expenses such as food, vaccinations, spay or neuter surgery and other health care a cat may have needed prior to being offered for adoption. Give yourself a pat on the back for thinking of adopting a rescued cat!

Where do the adoption cats come from?

When you read the individual cat stories, you will find out where each cat came from -- to the best of our knowledge.  Sometimes there is very little history as PAW’s main focus is the rescue of stray cats. We make up for it by giving you lots of information about what we know about each cat now!

Some of the cats are ones that have been returned after having been originally adopted from PAW.  After many years, returned cats represent a significant portion of the cats available for adoption.  Cats (sadly) are returned for any number of reasons usually as a result of changes in their family's circumstances.  Those cats are just as deserving of finding new homes as any.

Occasionally, PAW will accept a cat from an owner-surrender situation.

Although PAW's focus is on adult cats needing help, from time to time, we may have a kitten available to adopt.  Usually they too have come to us as strays.

How can I meet one of the Adoption Cats?

All available adoption cats are living with foster families.  There are a number of ways a PAW adoption counsellor can arrange for you to meet the cat(s) of your choice, including having a cat come to you for a visit in your home.

If you have looked at all the cats above and cannot decide which one(s) you would like to meet or if you need some guidance on which one would fit in well with your current pet family, an adoption counsellor will be happy to make suggestions. You may even be surprised by an invitation to meet a cat that is not yet on the web-site.

When you are ready, don’t be shy!  Contact PAW by telephone or click on the adoption inquiry link below.  We will be happy answer any questions you may have about the adoption process or the adoption cats.
