Siri

Siri
Color: DSH Tortoiseshell
Age: Born approx. July 2007
Gender: Spayed Female

History:
Siri showed up in the yard of a PAW volunteer in late May, 2009.  She was nothing but skin and bones.  After noticing her on and off for a couple of days, our volunteer decided she had better feed this little creature.  And that was that, the little cat stayed in the yard, close to a food source.  When she was assessed by PAW, it was a shock to see the evidence of her having nursed kittens.  She seemed impossibly little to have had that experience.  No kittens were ever found nor did she leave the yard periodically to tend to others.  About a month later when Siri had gained some weight, we had her spayed and it was discovered she was pregnant yet again.  She likely would not have survived another pregnancy due to her extremely emaciated condition.

Siri

Personality:
Someone must have surely shown this little cat what love is all about; otherwise, how could she be so affectionate?  It is not unusual to find a mother cat in an  emaciated condition (they need twice the food intake when they are nursing kittens) but one has to wonder how someone that can show love to their cat can also be so very cruel by abandoning her at a time when she was the most vulnerable.  Raising kittens outdoors is surely the most challenging existence a cat can endure.

Siri (what a little sweetheart!) loves to sit on your lap and snuggle up beside you at night.  Towards morning when she wants out of the bedroom, she softly meows or gently touches you with her paw.  Siri was initially quite frightened of the other cats in her foster home but after a couple of months, she began to relax and accept that her feline roommates are not a threat to her.  When she feels safe (usually later in the evening when the other cats have settled down for the night), she runs and plays like a kitten. She has very good manners, eats well and keeps herself very clean.  Being a tortoiseshell, you can be assured her main mission in life is to have a deep relationship with her person.
