Monty
Color:    DLH White with tabby patches
Age:      Born May 12, 2005
Gender: Neutered Male

History:
Monty was adopted from PAW as a young kitten in 2005. After a couple of years, a puppy entered Monty's life which could have contributed to two urinary tract episodes he had while living there (a boisterous puppy can be hard on a cat if the puppy's behaviour is not well controlled and if the cat is not provided with a safe zone).  Bladder issues are usually caused by stress and/or a poor quality diet. Stress that remains unchecked can cause a cat to limit its water intake thus making its bladder susceptible to infection, cystitis or the development of urinary crystals.  Cats that are fed a diet of dry food only will need to drink a relatively large quantity of water daily to avoid chronic dehydration.   Canned food is a great way to increase a cat's water intake as it contains 75% water.  Monty has continued to have a healthy bladder since being in his foster home following his return to PAW.

Personality:
Monty's foster mom has delighted in discovering the "full" Monty! He is an extraordinarily sweet boy! He loves to gaze adoringly at his people and for the first few nights after he arrived, his foster mom would wake up and find him laying closely beside her, looking into her face and purring. He especially enjoys sitting on the bathroom counter watching her hair and make-up routine.   He has a good appetite (maybe a little too good as he is pushing 20 pounds). His foster mom looks forward to Monty finding a new guardian that can give him the attention he craves and very much deserves. He likes to play and leap about with a string toy. He could do with more exercise but tends to be a bit introverted around his feline roommates.  We would like to see Monty invited into a home with fewer or no other pets.  You would be welcome to foster Monty before deciding if you would like to adopt him. He also appreciates a bit of help with keeping his beautiful coat groomed (normal with most long-haired cats).
