Lincoln

Lincoln

Lincoln
DSH Black
Born August 30, 2005
Neutered Male

History:
Lincoln was a little kitten taken out of the city animal shelter in 2005. He was adopted soon after that but, three years later, returned to PAW in Oct/08 because hescratched a new piece of their furniture. He had hever scratched any of their furniture previous to them getting this new item. Perhaps Lincoln was simply not being given enough attention. It is very sad and disappointing that he was returned for this reason. He has not scratched any furniture in his foster home (even after being there for over a year). Failing to work through such a minor behaviour as this was very unfair to this nice little cat. It is stimulating for cats to have different surfaces to play on and scratch on. Pets shouldn't be ignored. They can get lonely and bored just like anybody can.

Lincoln

Personality:
When Lincoln went to his foster home, it took a few weeks before he felt safe. Soon he realized these people were there for his enjoyment! He is no longer bored or lonely! His foster mom says he is a lover and a talker and particularly likes a cuddle on a lap. He is a little buddy to his foster mom, watching and following her as she goes about her day. He enjoys sitting on a window perch and watching the birds and other visitors to the backyard. For nap time, he sometimes burrows behind the bed pillows in the guest room. He is very much enjoyed by his foster family. He lived companionably with a dog in his first adoptive home and more recently has become friends with another PAW foster cat (Miko). They have done very well together and are good company for each other. Lincoln has good manners and does not jump onto the counters.
