Keelin

Keelin

Keelin
Color: DSH Golden Brown Tabby
Age: Born approx. Sept 2004
Gender: Spayed Female

History:
As near as we have been able to deduce, Keelin is Thumbelina's daughter and sister to Romie.  Please read Thumbelina's bio for the story on how this cat family came to be PAW cats.  The renters in whose yard they lived told us that Keelin had been a mother herself.  Like the rest of her family, Keelin had not had a relationship with a human prior to becoming a PAW cat.  She lived at the Cat Compassion Centre for almost three years until it closed in mid 2008.  She is now in a foster home with one of her brothers, Neptune, who had been adopted a couple of years earlier.  When we took her to Neptune’s home, she very quickly resumed her relationship with her brother. But, of course, she is still looking for a permanent home.

Personality:
Keelin is quite adept at enjoying herself and loves play sessions when someone makes time to do that with her.  She has perhaps been the slowest of her family to trust people but has made very good progress since being in a foster home.  Once-feral cats make truly wonderful pets.  They have the ability to bond very deeply with their person.  Their caregivers need to accept who they are and what they have been through.  They need time and space to feel safe.  Like the rest of her family, Keelin is very good with other cats.  We think this family excels in cat-relationships because they have always lived in a group and have never experienced a solitary life.  That and good genetics which Keelin has in spades!
