Jasper

Jasper
Color: DSH Gray Tabby
Age: Born June, 2008
Gender: Neutered Male
History:
Jasper was rescued in a neighbourhood in early November, 2009. For several days, he had been persistently asking to be let in at several doorways and windows. He finally found the right doorway whereupon he was immediately invited to come in out of the cold. Like most strays, you can’t imagine why this cat is lost! Right away, his rescuer advertised him on Kijiji and, much to her surprise, was contacted by someone who recognized Jasper as a cat she used to own but had given away. Jasper came to be in that person’s life after he had been left in a box outside the pet store where she worked.
If you ever find yourself in a position where you are considering re-homing a pet, you must be VERY careful who you give your pet to. It is difficult to know what to ask the person, so we strongly suggest you prepare a list of questions ahead of time. Know what kind of a home you want for your pet. Ask for a reference.

Personality:
Jasper fit in quickly in his foster home which tells us that he will have the ability to do that again in his next and permanent home. For now, he is the only pet in the foster home so we cannot give an opinion as to his sociability with other pets. However, he is a young cat and we expect his integration with other pets would go well as long as it’s done properly. Integrations are best done slowly and in a way that respects all the pets involved.
Jasper is definitely a cat we would put in the little buddy category. He follows his foster mom and her twelve year old son around the house, always curious about what they are up to (or what they are eating). He is well socialized and, like most youngsters, he loves to play. Favourite toys include “those” little furry mice and a good play session with a string toy and a human on the other end. He likes to tell you all about his day when you arrive home from work and if there is anything out of the ordinary (e.g. a closet door closed that shouldn’t be), he will find a way to let you know. Jasper loves to keep your feet warm at night. He is a confident, outgoing cat, which are good qualities to have when you need the kind of help he did.
