Janny

Janny

Janny
Description:    DSH Black and White
Age:                Adult
Gender:          Spayed Female

History:

Janny is one of Jacalyn's kittens (read her story too).  On April l7, 2007, when Jacalyn (a stray) was taken to a vet clinic to be spayed, the vet determined she had given birth within the past twenty-four hours.  With a good idea of where the kittens might be, the bylaw person in Taber found the little family of five kittens, all alive albeit hungry!  They were reunited with their mom after being alone for an entire night and most of the next day.  Cats are incredible survivors, even little tiny ones!

Personality:

When it was discovered that Janny's mom was not a feral cat, she and her kittens were put in a PAW foster home. Janny is the only one of Jacalyn's kittens that has yet to find her permanent home. She has a very gentle nature and we truly want her to find the perfect guardian.  She does exceptionally well in her foster home which she shares with other cats and a friendly dog.  She is the kind of cat you need to remember to seek out as she simply waits quietly for your attention.  But when it is her turn for attention, she gets right down to business.  Laser pointer, little mice, feather teaser, you name it, this young lady knows how to enjoy a good play session!

In the fall of 2008, Janny went for a dental and had to have most of her teeth extracted.  Her mouth had obviously been painful for a long time but cats are very adept at covering up physical distress.  Untreated dental disease can shorten a cat's life as on-going infection will damage internal organs (just like with humans).  Janny's recovery went quickly and her foster mom says she is much happier. Obviously she is feeling good because she is faster and more playful than ever before.  Because Janny has waited for a permanent home for quite some time, we would be willing to place her in your home for a trial period.  It would likely be best if there was another cat for her to play with as she’s never known life without other felines.
