Dylan

Dylan
Color: DSH Grey & White
Age: Born approx. Aug. 1/05
Gender: Neutered Male
History:
Dylan originally came to be in the PAW Society in 2006 when, at about eight months of age, he was noticed living in the midst of a managed colony of feral cats in Taber. He was obviously tame, likely abandoned. [A managed colony is one where a committed, compassionate caregiver provides a group of usually untamed outdoor cats with shelter, food, water and arranges for them to be spayed and neutered.] Wherever possible, a tame cat found living in a feral colony should be removed and re-homed. Even with a food source, living outside is not an easy life for a cat.
Dylan was adopted through PAW shortly after being rescued. In the early fall of 2009, after being in his adoptive home for three years, his person returned him to PAW. He had lived with another cat and a dog and along very well with them. The reason given for surrendering him was that the family was reducing its number of family pets and because Dylan had been the last pet to join the family, they decided he would be the one that had to go. It is difficult for a rescue group to understand that rationale.

Personality:
Dylan was a cuddle bug as a youngster and still is. His foster mom is enjoying getting to know him. There are four family cats in the foster home so Dylan was started out in foster mom’s bedroom with just one of them. The two got along right away and soon Dylan was integrated with the rest of the household. He has been an easy cat in all ways. When his foster mom sits down to check her email in the mornings, he invites himself on to her lap, cuddles up closely and gives her little kisses. He also likes to sleep beside her at night. His fur is very soft and he has a tiny little voice. Says foster mom, “He has a wonderful personality.” If you have other pets, Dylan would be a good choice. If you don’t have other pets, Dylan would be a good choice. He deserves a nice family where he will be given a lifetime home.
