PAW --> Available Adult Cats --> "Timothy"Name: Timothy Color: Brown Tabby Age: Born April 11, 2006 Gender: Neutered Male History: Timothy was born in a neighbourhood where a very elderly person was doing her best to care for stray cats. Because of the situation, the decision was made to rescue several of them. This included Timothy's mom, her kittens, another adult female (with partial vision and is Timothy's grandmother) and her newest litter of kittens. The kittens were all adopted through PAW and the two moms (who at that time were feral cats -- unsocialized to humans) are in a permanent home where they continue to make great progress. Timothy was adopted as a small kitten but sadly, was returned in May/08 when his person moved and did not take him with her. Personality: PAW adopts to people that will keep their cats indoors; with no outdoor access unless there is an enclosed cat run or supervision with a harness and leash. Letting your cat free-roam can be a tragic decision. You simply have to look at the PAW Society's lost and found books to understand the problems associated with outdoor access. Timothy's first adopter did not comply with our indoor-only policy and started letting him go outside. So, like most of our rescued cats, he is in the process of re-learning indoor life. We always caution new guardians to be mindful at their doorways. The great outdoors is very stimulating for cats and it is no wonder they seek it out. To offset that desire, make your home a fun and stimulating place. Change your cat's environment from time to time with different toys, tunnels, safe vertical access, paper bags, cardboard boxes -- and especially -- daily attention from you! Timothy loves attention and will the first one on your lap when you take a moment to sit. He is doing well in his foster home which he must share with several cats. He is fine with the friendly resident dog. When a new foster cat comes along, it takes him some time to accept the newcomer but he eventually does just that. He is an affectionate, talkative, confident and sometimes opinionated young lad! His favourite toy is a laser pointer.
