PAW --> Available Adult Cats --> "Keelin"![]()
Name: Keelin Breed: DSH Golden Brown Tabby Age: Born Approx. Sept. 2004 Gender: Spayed Female. History: As near as we have been able to deduce, Keelin is Thumbelina's daughter and sister to Romie. Please read Thumbelina's bio for the story on how this cat family came to be at the Compassion Centre. The renters in whose yard they lived told us that Keelin had been a mother herself. When she first came to the centre, she was put in one of the isolation rooms and being confined like that, she let herself be touched quite abit. However, she couldn't stay in there forever and once she got her freedom to be anywhere in the centre, it became a little tougher to lay hands on her. This whole family loved the idea of being on the top level (above the isolation rooms) where they could be in charge of how much interaction they had with people. Personality: However, like her other family members, Keelin now spends more and more time "downstairs". She is quite adept at enjoying herself and loves the play sessions that Katrina (the centre caregiver) arranges for her. She also plays with her brother, Romie, and spends a lot of time with her mom. Keelin, with absolute certainty, would become tame at a much faster rate if she were in a family home. Once-feral cats make truly wonderful pets. They have the ability to bond very deeply with their person. And, like the rest of her family, Keelin is very good with other cats. We think this family excels in cat-relationships because they have always lived in a group and have never experienced a solitary life. That and good genetics which Keelin has in spades! ![]()
