Name: Kaper Color: DSH Black and White Age: Born Approx. Sept. 19/05 Gender: Neutered Male. History: The devoted caretakers of a sterilized feral colony noticed this black and white fellow one day, trying his best to get some food from the feeding station in the sheltered area of the colony. His presence was not appreciated by the twenty or so cats that make up the colony, but Kaper persisted and managed to stay close to the area if not quite an integrated member of the colony. Before long, the caregivers began to suspect that this little guy was not feral and indeed, once he was trapped, they were right. Kaper was a totally socialized cat but needed to be neutered. It's likely he was abandoned in the area or perhaps due to still being a full tom, he had wandered from his home and ended up in that area. Unneutered males often feel compelled to wander. You do not do your male cats or dogs any favours by not having them neutered. Personality: Since December, 2006, Kaper has been an extremely happy, indoor-only, foster cat in a home that has three cats, another foster cat and two cat-friendly dogs. He is a nice, gentle boy and very respectful of other animals and people alike. He good naturedly indulges the other foster cat, Michael, in play sessions that include tag and wrestling. He loves his people and in the dark of night, he will oh-so-quietly lay on your pillow and gently kneed your hair -- which makes for bed-head like you've never experienced before! This boy is definitely a lover and now that his hormones no longer rule him, he is more than contented to have a life as a pampered house cat. He is simply one of those cats that is very easy going, a joy to have as a friend.
