PAW --> Available Adult Cats --> "Jenny"

Name: Jenny Breed: DSH White & Black Age: Born Approx. August, 2004 Gender: Spayed Female. History: It was shocking to hear that there were two adult cats and three kittens trying to survive down in Pavan Park. Now, a family group consisting of a mother cat and kittens do not just end up in a uninhabited place like that. They were quite obviously intentionally abandoned in the park. Thank goodness the park is used on a regular basis for recreational walking. A lady fed them for a few weeks, another made a shelter for them. Both actions saved their lives as then the cats did not have to venture forth to find food. When PAW heard about their plight, room was made to squeeze them into our system. Jenny was the mom of the kittens which have all been adopted. She was spayed within a couple days of being rescued. The other adult was Ellie who was adopted through PAW on Dec. 20/06. Personality: Jenny, quite naturally, has been traumatized by the event. Mother cats are intensely protective and it is hard to imagine how single-minded she would have had to be in order to keep her kittens alive in a wilderness area. Now, however, she is beginning to relax and settle in to her newly protected environment at the Cat Compassion Centre. She still has some trepidation about being picked up (there are many cats that do not like to be picked up), but when you approach her in her bed, she starts purring even before you make contact. When you touch her, she leans into your hand for more. She has a huge desire to love and be loved and she has already made great progress in trusting that new people in her life will not hurt or abandon her. She is a beautiful cat outside and possesses the sweetest of little souls inside.
