Asha
Color: DSH Solid Gray
Age: Born approx. October 1, 2006
Gender: Spayed Female

History:
She is a playful and spunky little cat now, but not when she first came to the attention of NOKA (an animal advocacy group in Lethbridge).  NOKA received a voicemail on their spay/neuter assistance line from someone who said they found a cat in a box and that it was bleeding.  When NOKA returned the call, the person had already taken the cat to the city pound.  In the middle of a busy summer at the pound, it is likely a cat in her condition would have been euthanized.  NOKA retrieved her from the shelter and took her to a veterinary clinic where it was discovered she was in her second trimester and had a uterine infection.  It is unlikely she would have survived without an emergency spay-abort.  PAW agreed to help Asha find her permanent home.

Personality:
Since the Cat Compassion Centre closed in the summer of 2008, Asha has been in a foster home where she is doing very well.  She lives with a couple of resident felines and if you want a cat that can hold her own, Asha is your girl!  She is playful and full of kitten-like energy.  She also likes to chat and once she has your attention, she pours on the charm!  She enjoys being carried around.  Like most rescued cats, she came from an outdoor experience, so it is important to be mindful when your outside doorway is in use.  Many cats go missing every year – even if “they never leave the yard.”  Asha will make a delightful addition to your home and she deserves the permanence that an adoption will give her.
