Anthony

Anthony
Color: Black/Gold Tabby, Medium-Long Hair
Age: Born Approx. June, 2008
Gender: Neutered Male

History:
Sadly, yet not uncommon, Anthony was left to fend for himself when his person moved away in mid 2009. What could possibly make it okay for people to drive away as their pets sit on their doorstep? There was another cat too, likely Anthony’s brother, but something either happened to him or he wandered away because soon, it was just Anthony, outside and alone. When the neighbours figured out what happened, they started leaving food out for him. He was not yet neutered (he is now) so it was just sheer luck that something did not happen to him too. Unaltered cats roam and as a result, subject themselves to dangerous situations like traffic and other animals. Maybe Anthony stuck around because he loves people. He was eventually brought indoors in late October, 2009, by one of the neighbours whose heart could no longer tolerate seeing him living outside. Winter was coming.

Personality:
While living outside, Anthony shared his outdoor food bowl and little shelter with two homeless kittens.  He was like a big brother to them, alternately playing with them, grooming or letting them cuddle up for warmth. Both kittens were also brought indoors and have since been adopted through PAW.  Anthony is sharing his foster home with three resident adult cats and a PAW foster cat, Dylan.  Integrating adult cats is the most successful when done slowly and respectfully to all concerned.  Anthony is quite exuberant (still a youngster) and sometimes the resident cats prefer to watch his antics from under the bed or couch.  Anthony is a social butterfly and very much enjoys people relationships.  He soaks up all the attention he can get from his foster mom. When he isn't playing or running off some energy, he likes to sit beside her or on her lap. His vetting has now all been attended to and he appears to be in very good health.
