Wixie

Wixie originally came to PAW as a little kitten and was placed in a foster home. After a short period of time, her foster parents decided to adopt her into their family. Seven years later, when a baby came along, PAW was notified that they no longer had the time to give to their cats. They had also adopted another PAW cat, Mystery. As the people expressed urgency for the cats to be gone, a previous adopter from PAW came to the rescue and offered his home temporarily. PAW is seeking a foster home for the two cats. If that is something you would like to do for these nice cats, please contact PAW. Or (even better) if adopting the girls is something you are willing to consider, we would be pleased to forgo one of the adoption fees.

Personality:

Wixie lived with a couple of dogs in the above-mentioned home and tolerated them well. Her main companion is Mystery whom she has lived with almost her entire life. Their relationship is well established with Mystery being the boss and Wixie willing for her to be that (cats naturally establish hierarchies). Wixie loves to lie on her person for a gentle and thorough petting session. Her temporary caregiver has also found her to be a very curious little cat and one that especially likes to check out new things. Initially she was a little shy but her desire to explore her world soon replaced her reticence in this new living arrangement. Says her caregiver, "The guest-cats will stand on two feet to get a pat on the head and take almost any opportunity to rub against you. Both are two of the friendliest cats I've met. They are so pleased to have attention and love chasing the laser pointer."

NOTE: If you are thinking of adopting, please do not let Wixie's or Mystery's age be a deterrent. If they live to be little old ladies, your heart won’t be able to tell how long you’ve loved them - whether it's been their whole lives or “only” ten years. What will be important is that you loved them and they loved you. Wixie and Mystery are in the prime of their lives. They have been well cared for and their vaccinations are current.
