Tucker
Description: DSH White with Black Tabby Patches
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: Adult
History:
Tucker was originally adopted from PAW as a six month old kitten and lived for five years in a stable home. But with the inevitable changes and stresses that the arrival of a new baby can bring to a household, sometimes the pets lose out. Tucker was returned to PAW at the end of September, 2010. He has been living in a foster-home since.
Personality:
Tucker has certainly adapted himself well to his temporary residence. He experienced a few days of despondency, which can occur when a cat, usually a very sensitive creature, is wrenched from his home, and he comes to realize it is a permanent change. But after that, he threw himself into the new world into which he was placed. He likes people, though is initially cautious when he meets a new one. He enjoys being near his foster-guardian, and can often be found snoozing close by him. He likes being petted and stroked, his deep purr starting quickly when given attention. That sound is in contrast to his squeaks and trills with which he talks, though he is a quiet fellow most of the time.
Tucker has a playful personality, and though he seemed unfamiliar with some toys, even afraid of them, that didn’t last long, and within a week he was eager for his play-time. When there’s no human to play with him, he will entertain himself, beating up a fuzzy mouse or zooming through a cat-tunnel. He lives with three other cats and tried to interest each in playing, finally finding a play-mate with whom he has fun. His relations with the other cats aside from playing, are good, his principal fault being that they sometimes think him too friendly. At night, he can’t always find room on the crowded bed, so he settles peacefully on a near by chair.
With a good appetite, Tucker has adapted easily to new foods and is instantly ready when canned food is served at dinner-time. Adaptation, in fact, could be his motto. After an abrupt and unkind change to his life, his amiable and intelligent nature has allowed him to learn swiftly and fit in to new surroundings. Tucker would be the right fellow to adopt whether as an only cat or with others. All he requires is attention and affection.
