Mystery

Mystery came to be in the PAW rescue system in 2002 when she was rescued as a "juvie" (under 6 months) from the local pound. Soon after, she was adopted through PAW by a couple who promised her a lifetime home. But that's not how it turned out for Mystery. Soon after a new baby was born to the family, Mystery's people decided to return her and their other PAW cat, Wixie, because, they said, there now wasn't time to properly care for the cats. How sad for Mystery and Wixie. It is obvious the two cats were used to having lots of attention which makes their displacement difficult to understand.

Personality:

Mystery had a playful relationship with the dogs in her adoptive home and, in fact, would be the one to initiate play sessions with them. After a good romp, she would climb to a high place and reflect on her world, happy and content. She is extremely people-friendly and playful. She and Wixie are currently in a temporary foster home where they stay in a bedroom until their foster family returns from work. When it’s their turn to come out of the bedroom, they become very excited and rush towards their foster parent for petting and loving. You may think an eight year old cat would be sedate and content just to “be” but not Mystery -- she is very plugged-in to her world and the people in it! She is also gentle and patient with younger children. Having lived together for most of their lives, Mystery and Wixie are very comfortable with each other. We would love to see them adopted together and will forgo one of the adoption fees if that comes to be. If you are interested in fostering these two sweet girls, please contact PAW. NOTE: If you are thinking of adopting, please do not let Mystery’s or Wixie’s age be a deterrent. If they live to be little old ladies, your heart won’t be able to tell how long you’ve loved them - whether it's been their whole lives or “only” ten years. What will be important is that you loved them and they loved you. Mystery and Wixie are in the prime of their lives. They have been well cared for and their vaccinations are current.
