Megan

Megan

Description:  DSH Calico & White,

Gender:         Spayed Female

Born Approx. May, 2003

History:

Megan’s story begins when PAW was still operating the Cat Compassion Centre.  It was one morning in the early summer of 2008 when she and another cat, Marie, were found at the doorway, literally crammed inside a rubber storage container with the lid taped on, a few holes punched in it for air. Cats are highly sensitive little creatures and we cannot begin to imagine what the experience of sitting in a hot rubber container with another cat, possibly overnight, was like for either of them. There was no accompanying information, not even their names.  At their vet check, it was determined they were healthy, had been previously spayed and estimated to be around five years of age. A few weeks after settling in nicely at the Compassion Centre, the centre closed. Megan then went to live in a foster home along with Marie.  Both were subsequently adopted by the foster person but in May, 2010, Megan was returned to PAW. She is doing very well in her PAW foster home.

Personality:

Megan loves people, the more attention the better.  When approached, she rolls onto her side, an invitation to be touched and loved.  She likes to chat, will answer when called and is very reassured by your voice.  She offers an instant purr as a sign of her joy at being in relationship. We feel that Megan may be better suited to a home without other pets although we don't like to make that type of judgement about a cat.  It's impossible to really know the dynamics in a home from which a cat was surrendered. She particularly enjoys cuddling up closely with her foster mom and if the teenaged son is sitting on the floor, she is not shy about inviting herself onto his lap.  Megan also loves to have her hair done (aka be brushed) which, incidentally, is a great way to bond with a new guest-cat.  Calico cats are intelligent and intuitive and sometimes a little misunderstood because of those qualities.
