Kyree

ADOPTED
Kyree
Color: DSH Brown/Gold/Rust Tabby (pretty!)
Age: Born approx. July 9, 2008
Gender: Spayed Female
History:
In early January, 2009, (yes, cold) this little cat was spotted trying to scale a large pile of ploughed snow on the side of a busy thoroughfare in west Lethbridge. This caught the attention of a couple driving by and realizing there were no houses in close range, they stopped and picked her up. It would be odd indeed if a young cat like this wandered away from its home in the middle of winter. They placed several ads but no one claimed her. Within a few days of being rescued, she started scratching her head and neck and her ears were very red. She did not have ear mites. We suspected it may be food-related so a hypo-allergenic food was offered. The itchiness and redness went away within a day or two. Kyee is allergic to chicken. This is not uncommon in the cat world; in fact, just like with humans, feline food allergies seems to be on the increase. Thankfully, there are several chicken-free diets available from pet stores.
Personality:
How many ways to say "adorable"? Kyree's rescuers moved away and she was then placed with a new foster family. She has done very well there and shares that home with a resident cat and a young child. She prefers the child to the cat as she is definitely a people-cat! Kyree is always at the door to greet her foster family with her distinctive little "chirp". She loves to cuddle but is always up for a play session. She has a good appetite and has continued to do well on a chicken-free diet. Kyree is a happy little cat and will ask to share your bed. She's not been outdoors since being rescued.

Here she is having a snooze when she was temporarily in the PAW adoption room at the Petcetera store (before it closed):
